sorry man, wires wont hold. at even 15 mils per hour people get killed by loose stuff in the car bouncing around. To many accidents I have responded to and seen people hurt and killed.

God luck and I hope you do more than just expect the wires to hold it.

obviously...im not gonna make it cheap...it will be secured in there however i decide to do it. most likely ima cut that hump that is there and do some fiberglass work and make somethin to put the metal sleeve in like the way it is now in its regular location

i did this for a dude in a van once. i found a bracket/housing for a single din head unit on the internet. couldn't tell you where i found it. this was about 5 years ago. but it looked absolutely retarded. he wanted it up high so i could cut out the dash and put in a 10" monitor. it worked, and the monitor looked good in the dash (thanks to lots of fiberglass work) but the head unit between the visors was about the stupidest thing ever. but, do what you like.

what looked dumb about it...i mean that was in a van...there is a hump the headliner right now where it would go, i cant imagine it looking to bad. the plan is the put a 7 inch touchscreen in the dash. it should be an interesting install

his looked kinda silly cause he wouldn't let me form it into the headliner. i wanted to pull it out and make a fiberglass housing for the head unit that would blend into the head liner. then, recover with new fabric. giving it a factory look. he wanted to do it the cheap and "easy" way and use this plastic housing that i found for him. if you can make it blend into the headliner without just sticking out like a sore thumb, it should be pretty cool.

cool. that'll give you plenty of time to map a out a good game plan. you don't just jump into something like that. without patience and a solid plan of attack, you could end up with a serious eye sore in a very noticeable spot.

and yeah, i'd definitely say that stereo work should play second fiddle to a turbo.

yea i usually sit down and draw it all out how i want to do any project. i got a whole notebook full of stuff. i figure it cant be too hard, its a matter of cutting out the area for the deck. then fitting and seeing what needs to be fabricated...then do the whole fabrication process and get it fitted. i probably going to have to rewrap the headliner. then i will just extend the wiring. sounds pretty easy but def. a time consuming process.

o yea def. the turbo takes front seat to everything haha. i didnt even know the turbo project was gonna happen this summer till like a week b4 it otherwise i would have an more free time.

Best Buy carrys a "under dash shroud" it about 20 bucks and that will give you some what of a starting point for mounting. The shroud isnt it very pretty looking but some fiberglass work to it will help it out.
