Installing an aftermarket radio

I recently had the head unit stolen out of my car, and had to replace it on an extremely tight budget. I don't have any sort of aftermarket speakers or amps, other than the factory amplifier the mustang came with and a cheap pioneer head unit (stolen). I got a Jensen head unit from circuit city for $80. I was very satisfied with the price, and the performance of the unit so far. These instructions are for the install of a replacement head unit, not for an upgrade (although my new radio is far better than my old one..)

On my mustang, there were three wires unplugged from the stolen radio.
a simple metal plug, this is your antenna.
a rectangular grey plug with six wires feeding into it- these are your power wires.
a square grey plug with one thick grey wire feeding into it.
I was able to get a FORD ADAPTER KIT from Wal-Mart for Ten dollars. they are next to the radios, and are labeled by the manufacturer of the vehicle. Your radio should come with a plug which has 12 wires coming from the back of it. You simply pair the wires that came with the radio to the wires in the adapter kit, they should match completely. You will use both pieces (grey and black) that came with the adapter kit. I simply wrapped the ends of the wires around each other and taped them up- again, I was on a budget.
Once this is done, you plug the grey rectangular adapter to the six wired grey plug in your car, and the black plug with 8 wires on it (speaker wires) goes to a black plug that you will find plugged into another plug in your dash. to find this:
look into the empty radio bay. On the right, there are two rectangular plugs- one grey and one black. unplug the black one and plug your adapter into it. plug up the antenna and the wiring harness to your head unit, pop it in according to the product instructions, and you're good to go!

Credit goes to Wraitherlx for helping me on my install.

also, all the information I provide is strictly just to help you guys out. By no means am I saying that with this information you can go and troubleshoot or work on more advanced electrical systems. If you are trying to do something and are not sure on how please ask me or someone before trying to attempt it so that we can point you in the right direction ond/or walk you through it. Last thing I want you to do is totally screw up your car.

if i remember right, side pieces pop off, center piece with CIG adapter pops off, center panel around shifter need to pop up a little so that you can remove the center radio bezel, then remove the screws for the radio there should be 4
