All you're doing is keeping the relay from tripping, you won't burn anything up. From the circuit perspective, it will be just like you low beams are on.

I can not get this to work on my car. Its a 1997 Mustang gt. I tried all 5 pins.

You wouldn't want the high beams on in the sort of fog the fog lights were really intended for, and the stock fog lights don't add much illumination down the road where the high beams are pointed. So this mod would pair best with replacing the fog lights with long range driving lights.a while ago i believe it was jazzer that posted a quick how to on making a jumper out of a coule inches of wire and two male spade terminals and plugging it in instead of the broken relay like you did.

I'll cosign to the breaking of the prong on the relay method. Did it about a month ago and have seen no problems at all.

To clarify a reason behind keeping the fogs on when the high beams are active, HIDs in the fog lights. Rapidly turning HIDs off and on damages the ballasts and possibly the bulbs. That's how one of my kits got fried.
