the red/white is used to release trunk.
Do you have a example of relay to use? I don't know which one.

here is an example of one. When you order one make sure that it is a SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) relay rated to at least 30 amps.
Buy the Metra 30/40 Amp Relay with 5-wire Locking Socket and other Car security installation parts at circuitcity.com

I ll reveive the relay in the following week.
I noticed that door trigger is the domelight circuit. So when I close the door and arm the system, the domelight is still on for few seconds and the system flashes 3 times, meaning zone 3 active ( door open ). Is there anything better to do, to manage this input correctly?

what you will need to do is to program the "Bypass Notification" in the menu's section to off. It is factory set to on.

if you need help on how to program it let me know. there are sequences that you have to go through using the valet switch.

No problem with the valet switch, it works
![]() Maybe a stupid question, but where is the better place to fix the control unit? I think to install it near the SJB but there is not so much place! Same for siren, I have to find a place not too HOT under the hood. Any idea? TY

i usually hide the box underneath the dash (steering column) but just try to hide it somewhere out of site (but easily accessible for you if need be in the future) ZIP TIES are your best friend in this instance. As far as the siren just afix it to someplace by the firewall best way is to screw it somewhere on the firewall or just zip tie it to some wires, cant remember where I usually put it cause i do soooooo many of them. as long as its not sitting on top of the engine or the exhaust manifolds you will be fine. so you were able to program the "Bypass notification" right? Good job man.

I received them.
I think I have to cut the trunk pin wire , to connect it on 85 and 86. Then, I connect the instant trigger to 87. And the last one is the 30. To the ground ?

no, you will connect the red/white wire to 85 and 86 to 12 volt CONSTANT, 87 will go to ground, and then 30 you will take that wire coming off of the relay and tap that directly into your trunk release wire.

the trunk pin is the white/yellow positive.
the instant input trigger on Viper is negative. Which red/white do you talk about?

you are talking about the BLUE instant input trigger. what that is used for is for the trunk/hood switch that lets the alarm system know that the trunk/hood is open and to send an "instant trigger" to set off the alarm. the red/white wire is and auxillary output that will send a negative/positive trigger to an auxillary device (IE trunk release) so this is the wire that you want to use and it is found on the same harness as the BLUE instant trigger wire.

I think we don't understand each others
![]() The trunk release ( red/white on alarm ) is correctly connected. What I need to wire, is to detect the opening of the trunk. That's why I have to connect the car white/yellow (+) to the instant trigger on the alarm (-).

I did the connection as I described it below.
Now, when the trunk in open, it power the relay and the relay put the blue instant trigger to the ground. But I lost the trunk light!

its going to do that because if you think about it the relay is changing the polarity of the signal so when is closed it is constant (trunk light off) but when the trunk is opened it activates the relay changing the negative trigger (trunk light comes on) to a postive to send the signal to the brain to activate the alarm and at the same time sending that same positive signal back to the ECM making it believe that the trunk is closed. On some vehicles instead of tapping into the door triggers you can take that same wire and tap into the dome supervision b/c there is no switch for the lights to come on or off with the doors so when the doors are opened the light comes on sending that output signal back to the brain setting off the alarm, except without a relay. In a sense this is what you did with yours except put a relay in between to change the output polarity thus killing your light when the trunk is opened. This is also considering that the wire that you were supposed to tap into is the same as the trunk light wire, which I belive it is.
Hope that I explained it good enough for you.

ok. So what is the good wiring?
If the trunk is opened, the alarm blue wire ( instant trigger ) must be grounded. I saw only one signal that show the trunk is open : white/yellow ( SJB blk 26 pin plug, pin 15 ) shows +12V. Is there any hood pin on Mustang? I tried to use the purple/orange ( SJB blk 52 pin plus, pin 15 ) but it always shows +12! Thank you

sorry bro, didnt see it. on mustangs there is actually no pin switch that exists to let the system know that the trunk is open. on some cars you will see a light on the dash showing that the trunk is open, unfortunately with ours there is not. the simplest way to do it is to use the pin switch that your system came with and use that or you can also purchast a mercury switch that you can tie on to something to enable that to work.
