Matching Amp to Sub

Hello, all. I'm planning on buying this for Christmas;

http://cgi.ebay.com/JL-AUDIO-10-SUBW...em280054262306

Was told that it's a good, all around-sub for the price and for what I listen to:

Country, rock, pop, tiny bit of rap. 300W in a 10" JL should surely be enough, right?

Assuming all checks there, I need to know what amp to get. I don't want to overboard it, but please suggest what could safely match and handle this by a quality brand. (don't want to spend too much on it, either). Thanks!

thats kind of a difficult sub to match with dual 2ohm voice coils. it would be easier with two subs. With the one you can either hook it up as a 4ohm load or 1ohm load. I cant find any 1ohm stable 300watt amplfiers. kicker has a 300rms amp but its 2ohm so that wont work. And if you want to get 300rms at 4ohms youll have to buy like a 1200rms 1ohm stable amp so that when its operating at 4ohm its about 300rms output.

A dual 4ohm would be much easier to work with cause its a lot easier to find a 300-400rms 2ohm amplifer then 1 or 4ohm.

And this amp would do nicely and allows for upgradeability in the future if you get two dual 4 subs and then it can run 1ohm stable and output 600rms.

That doesn't seem too bad at all. Can you match up any good boxes for that? My int is tan, and I think the trunk is too, hafta look at it later.

i dont see any custom boxes made specifically for the mustang but their are a lot of different types of single 10" sub boxes. Heres just one, but their are many

Rockford Fosgate makes plenty of 4 ohm bridged app amps lemme fin one real quick http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...n_US&p_status= Yeah it's 300 bones but has a great warranty (like you'll ever need it! RF dont play!) and it'll beat the shit outta your JL and your car if you want it to. I have 4 of the same series amps (RF 600.2) running the 4 10's in my Monte Carlo (all older RF power He2 subs) and can produce around 120db in sea;ed boxes (not pro #'s but is what my meter reads @ 55hz)
