Pioneer AVIC Z1/Z2/Z3 going in a 2008 GT

Was planning on doing this install on the 2008 GT in the coming days. Getting a Z1 and it will be upgraded to a Z3 by swapping the HD in the unit. (HIGHLY Recommended! I have a Z1 converted to the Z3 in my truck right now and I love it!)

I have a couple of questions for those that may have already made the install...

1 - I was wondering about the wire harness for the car. I have seen two versions out there. One for about $10 and one for about $100. The expensive unit is a PAC unit and is supposedly complete. My question is do I need it. I have a Shaker 500 now.

2 - Reverse camera. Has anyone installed it? I have one in the Excursion because it's a pain to see out the back (particularly low area) of "the bus". However, I was considering it on the GT b/c the view out of the rear is not ideal. If you have..... where did you mount it?

3 - Not as critical..... however.... Did you connect the Auxiliary port in the center console? I would imagine it's covered in the wire harness but I'd like to know.

4 - Anything you think I need to know?

whoever is trying to sell you a hundred dollar harness is FOS! if you have the shaker system then you need to just purchase the one for that. It has 2 parts. one with the power and the speakers and the other is for the subs and has RCA's connected to it. About 20. As fas as the aux it is not covered in the connection and you will have to hard wire it in, easy.

Thanks...... I figured as much and got the two harnesses that you mentioned.

Another question....... the VSS wire.... is that on the harness or must I pull that from elsewhere?
