Need help on suspension

Hello,
Well its the first time im taking a heavy big car to autocross pretty soon. I had my miata perfectly tuned for autocross and it was so much fun. I remember our miatas use to dominate the course all the time, but now i have something different. So its going to hard, but so much getting to know a new car.
I was wondering what kind of sway bars does everyone recommend for the fox bodies? Looking for something pretty stiff for the rear.
The other thing i heard about the diff on my 89 shifts side to side on cornering, and can snap you into oversteer. I was reading up that a panhard bar helps out, but is their a do it yourself panhard bar tutorial out their?
Also is their any tips you guys can give to a new owner of 89 gt completely stock.
Thanks

You will need to work on the Fox to get to your standard

I would begin with some serious frame support via SFC's and go from there. To answer your question, YES, you can certainly snap-oversteer in your Fox and can be corrected via PHB or WL and a torque-arm. As for doing one yourself, do you mean "manufacturing" one yourself or just purchase and install?

Head over to The Official Suspension Guide by our own MM97GT and read about 13 pages of suspension goodness.

Welcome to MM's and see you at AX

Should've stuck with your Miata and just done the motorswap to a 5.0, hahaha.

You're going from a very well designed fully independent suspension (I beleive they're SLA all four corners, yes?) to one of the WORST suspensions on the road. Inboard spring McPherson strut front end and a HORRIBLE 4-link design in the rear couple with a very flexy chassis means that you're gonna end up replacing almost everything to get it settled down and predictable.

I wouldn't even look at swaybars yet. The absolute first thing you need to do is chassis bracing. Full length, weld-in Subframe connectors are a necessity for any sort of performance application. After that, I'd go for caster/camber plates. The stock front geometry is greatly improved with a good dose of caster, and there's no way to get it without CC plates.

I've seen people do their own panhard bars, but honestly, the price of an aftermarket one makes it not very worth it in my mind to roll your own. MM makes a good unit that works around stock rear-exit exhaust that's not much more than $300.

Maximum Motorsports :: The Leader In Mustang Performance Suspension

Griggs Racing Products

I'm sure there are others, but those are the two I suggest.
