I'll try the chalk trick. I can see from the last track day where the outside 2in of the front tires look scrubbed. That's why I thought of adding a few more lbs of air in them.
Yeah, that's due to a lack of camber, not pressure. Can't be helped unless you get CC plates, unfortunately :/

Untill I have a spare 300.00+ to spend on CC plates can I notch the strut bolt holes to gain camber?

Is there other cheaper ways?

Eventually I will get CC plates, but in the mean time I don't want to ruin my Good Year F1s From running a poor set up, as they are over 300 each to replace.

I'm sure you can, but I wouldn't recommend it. Along the same lines you can notch the top of the two lower strut mounts, which angles the strut closer to the wheel, gaining some negative camber. Again, it's an option, but not one I'd necessarily recommend.

That being said, I'm not as familiar with S197s. My understanding is the front suspension is basically the same as the fox/fox-4 chassis, so that's the hip I'm shooting from.

You can replace the upper strut bolt with a "cammed type" that will give you some adjusment on the S197. This will give you up to 2° +/- on your struts. Personally, I would MUCH rather see you install CC plates, but these would work on a budget. Either way, an alignment shoppe needs to finalize all the settings. I aways thought the S197 already had these type bolts, but maybe not.

I could do an overnight I'm sure there is a hotel.....maybe I can organize a MM meet LOL for next Spring/Summer.

In fact I WOULD even give up a Car Show Weekend-so I am serious. I just want to get my car where it should be. Perhaps the challange now is finally getting seat time,, I am driving her everyday this week.

But this is something we should all do-get ONE with the car.
Another get together sounds like a GREYt idea

there's only a couple events levy this year. Want to try to get some MMers together next spring for some Autocrossing MM style?

I can definatley let everyone know the new schedule when it comes out.
I can play host like Erin did

Jaz, Jaz, Jaz.... NO, hahaha. Negative camber is the tire leaning inward. If you get that lean from notching that strut, that means that the tire is closer to the strut, not farther away.

EDIT: I found an image that probably explains it better:

OH.... I new that. I was reading your post as if you elongate upper holes in strut tower to "move the strut toward the tire" to gain neg. camber. I figured you just mis-spoke (or rather, mis-wrote)

Re-reeding it now, eye sea that I just red it rong

Re-fixd

YES! May not too many responses but might be able to meet up with you all from IA for a weekend autocrossing event. Now...I am NOT buying any new parts.

We can do this. How far is this track from Glen Ellyn IL?

Ok so it's about the same as IA City..4 hrs. Could do that on a Friday and leave Sunday and maybe get a few people up here to come on out. Could be a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanna do it. But we need helmits....so we'd have to borrow. I figure even if I tried out here..there is this ccaa in Rantoul IL..it is 3 hrs-SOUTH so IA makes more sense with MM friends.

Most AX clubs will have loner helmets, but recommend you find a motorcycle shoppe and see if you can rent one. This will confirm a good fit and save some trouble while at the event. You will probably also want to bring a lunch for the day and maybe some chairs with a tent to keep from baking in the sun.

Check with the club for all the ins/outs of such things so you are covered.
