ESCA 10-10-09 Santa Rosa

Well, I went to the ESCA meet in Santa Rosa today and that was a BLAST!!!! lol i came to the conclusion that i need track tires! Holy crap i wore mine out today... I was out there along with Reverend Dexter and Jazzer, I wasn't really able to get many good vids but here is one of jazzer i took with my phone i'll upload my one later when i'm not so tired, and unless some one else beats me i'll post up the track map... but lucky me i didn't once spin out even though i was flooring it thru the turns Oh and i also ended up with a CEL

Hey, sorry I didn't get back with my code reader in time, man. I got back RIGHT after everything shut down.

My CEL was the same thing I've had before: P1516 (Generic IMRC error). Usually I clear it when it pops up, and it goes away. This time the system is pretty adamant about it (or I didn't clear it right, which wouldn't surprise me as I was using new software on the laptop instead of my cheapie handheld scanner). If it is sticking around, I'm fairly confused, as near as I know, that error should never be seen by itself; it should have a corollary error (IRMC stuck open, or stuck closed... or SOMETHING).

I've got some vids, including an in-car of Jazzer riding along in my car when I got crossed up through the final slalom section, and you can see me sawing back and forth trying to keep from spinning out, hahaha.

haha it's cool man. Mines was burning bright the entire way here... i'm gonna go to GIAC and get a second layer of software so i can go to stock mode.

sounds like it'd be a gas to watch.

in my 1st vid it looks like i ran over every single one in the slalom but only hit one.

Here's the map pepes and was a fast one for sure!

Made an adjustment to my rear sway-bar and did the trick. Up to this point, I had a heck of a time accelerating out of a corner without a pretty heavy case of the what is needed to clear the roads in Tahoe Ended up going to max stiffness on my MM bar and actually drifted coming out onto the second slolom.... way cool

In typical fasion, I seemed to take what looked/felt like a better line over the course of the day, but actually lost time. Oh well, I can only hope the table will be in the same place next season.

Hey Jaz, just so you know, I've got your SO's gum and change. I got back after you guys left.

EDIT: Just looked at the results... apparently I *did* get one clean run off, 'cause I pulled a 53.1 as my best time! I thought my best was the 52.9+1.

And I DO have two codes now: P1516 and P1518; IMRC generic error, and IMRCs stuck open. Honestly, I see why people go to IMRC delete plates, there's almost no difference in feel.

EDIT THE 2ND: Jaz, watching your video, it looks like you're turning in too early, especially through that two cone slalom.

^ Yup, braking way too late as well

That was one of my faster runs, but didn't feel that way. Over all the years of driving correctly for the street, braking and accelerating smoothly, I just need to re-train my brain so I can drive more insane

Just soo hard to be at nearly WOT 25' before I need to drop 50 MPH of speed.

Ha ha..... noticed something on vid #3. I had placed my around the top of the door until I realized I wasn't supposed to have my hand outside the car and quickly pulled back in *you did not see The Jazzer arm out the window*

I wondered for a minute if you would get DNF'd for this little transgression, but fortunately not. I would have hated to see them pass on that bad news while you were on your back removing cones lodged under your ride

Good stuff, Maynerd!

^^^ Yeah, noticed that. That car either needs grab handles, another CG lock, or better seats if I'm gonna make a habit of having passengers.
