STOA Auto-X Santa Rosa 10-31-09

A few weeks back was the last event of the year for ESCA, but got an e-mail saying the Sunbeam Tiger Owners Association was going for one last event on Halloween

Was a VERY technical course and not one suited soo well for The VIXN. Was happy to pick up 2.5 seconds over the day, but not soo happy to get my first DNF On my third run, I drove right by the first two cones and coudn't figure out which ones I missed after being handed a nice "DNF" post-it® note

This was my 5th run and was at 60.37, so my best time of the day. Unsure what the fastest time was, but somewhere within 58 was best I overheard.

Coil-Overs, shmoil-overs.... get your car out and RUN IT BABY

AX is ALL about the driver, not the car. Take it out and learn the limits of Machine and Man (< Rush Red Barchetta)

That looks pretty similar to how the PCA had set up the course on the PCA vs ESCA day.

And Lefty, just run it, man! All I've got is good tires, bilsteins, porterfields, and SS brake lines. I've run bone stock on crappy allseasons, before and if anything it's MORE fun when the limits are lower due to crappy tires (then again, I like being right on the limit of lateral traction).

I wouldn't run with drag radials, but that's about it. Heck, I'd take the Bronco out there if it was all I had (I've ran one of my Broncos on a rallycross course, THAT was fun!).

See if they have any SCCA ProSolo events near you... basically it's a cross of drag racing an autocross, you have two mirrored courses and a drag race start, and actively race another car rather than just compete based on times.
