ESCA Auto-X 7-16-11

Was a nice day... not too hot, but did get a bit sunburned. Was a tough day in that had a bit too many things to think about and course was a bit confusing. I ended up DNF'ing 2 times

I was soo focused on a new set of heavier springs/shocks out back, along with a brand-new set of tires, I got lost in this one spot a couple times. Turns out, a whole bunch of people had issues in this location. By the 5th run, I had it down after heading out to that location and watched about 20 cars shoot through. Anyway, ended up with a better time than usual, so I am figure to be up a bit in the standings. Far from 1st place, but a definative improvement to be sure.

Upping my 200# CO's to 300# was a MAJOR improvement and was very evident right away. I had begun the day with the rear sway-bar completely disconnected, but ended up using two settings dialing it in to what I think will be good.

Good runs for sure. Can't wait till this weekend. I get to play again and get out of this rental car. I miss my clutch.

Yeah, I'm a little frustrated, I thought I had pulled a 52.108, but according to the official results my best was a 52.5... I must've coned that run If I'd stuck around in the afternoon, I'm pretty sure I would've found a clean 51.X, but I'll never know, hahaha.

And I had one of the faster guys in our class ride with me 'cause I was trying to figure out if I was doing something wrong or if I could legitimately blame the car. He was already running about 2 seconds faster than me, after he rode with me he said my lines were awesome, and then he used them and found another second and a half!

So... I'm looking at more parts. I need more grip up front (rode with jazzer on a 49.9 run of his... dear sweet Jesus does his front end just STICK), and I need mo' powa! Stock 5.0 + 2.73s just isn't doin' it anymore.

Awesome Jazzer. Lookin' good as usual.

Rev - I'm sure you'll have it dialed before to long.

Can't wait to finish the suspension on my car and put in a full season of racing. Was to worried about joining the F.I. club this summer to put in an honest effort.

Yeah, based on tire temps I need more camber, and even with my new CC plates I'm maxed where I am. So, looking at some of the eccentric strut mount bolts (should get me another degree) and dropping down from the huge-ass stock GT front swaybar to a SN95 V6 bar (and bonus is that they're hollow, so I should shed a couple pounds off the nose that way).

I'm sure some weight reduction wouldn't hurt, either, so my front tires wouldn't have to work so hard.

Time and money... time and money

Indeed... Wallet got hit hard this summer... Hopefully finishing it up in the winter so all I'll have to pay for is; gas, fluids, track fee's, dues and wear items.

Well, I ordered some camber bolts... and $30 at LMR turned into $230 real quick as I picked up a few other things I've been eyeballing for a while, hahaha.

Bob got better shots than I did this round, but I still say he uses too fast of a shutter speed...
