2012 SCCA Autocross Rule Changes

Not sure if anyone saw this posted yet so I thought I'd post it. I hadn't seen it and it does put some interesting points out there on their changes. Those of you planning on dominating the stock classes with the Boss 302 Leguna Seca, too bad, it's on the stock exclusion list. =( Standard Boss 302 will be in B-Stock.

Looks like K-Member swaps will be legal in CP.

The rest is pretty uninteresting to me anyway

why race stock when you can upgrade. If I could afford a boss I would be able to afford to upgrade it and I would.

Because it would be dead reliable fun. Plus they are so capable stock, which is obvious by this ruling, you won't be able to drive it to its full potential anyway. Why upgrade when you don't need too?

You should always establish a base line and work from there. The Boss 302 comes with some substantial upgrades over the factory GT so you can't really compare them. Running in a class where there are relatively no modifications to the competiton helps establish a way to compare the performance of your car to another without worrying about every tiny modification the competition has done.

It is also a big deal because the Boss could be over classed and underperforming compared to the rest of the class... Sam Strano is now saying the standard one should be in a stock which means roushes, saleens, gt500s and vettes (some vettes) and many other really quick cars. The gt500 is already classed way above its performance capability and I fear the boss will be the same.

Because its expensive and once you mod one thing you have to mod more. If and when i get another car (either boss or roush) i won't be modding it. There will be no need for it, both cars are damn fast and look fine.

RZN? Is that you?

It wipes right off, no scratches or permanent damage. If the scuffs bother you that much, wipe it off with a microfiber then rewax that section. Besides, it's a car and one that is meant to be driven!
