nasa american iron rule changes. should we st2?

im pretty pissed about the american iron series. they are really pissing us off. we may go run st2 now.
heres the new rules. we wont be able to run our s197 competatively because we have abs.
we will either have to run
3500/9=388rwhp with no abs
or
3500/9.5=368rwhp with abs

at mid ohio that is a huge difference. you need abs in some cases just as you need the power in the multiple straitaways at mid oh. the camaros will be blocking everybody and kicking our ass. that and they are making us go back to the dreaded toyo tires....

what do you guys think we should do?
stay in ai and get our asses kicked or drop the boss in and run with the big boys
with st2 we can lower the car back down like how the suspension was designed to be. wider grippier hoosiers, and run abs. annnd we could run 402 rwhp in st2
st1 we could run 636!!!(more than our boss 302 will put out for sure)

what do you guys think?

ST2. I've always been a fan of the "Build the car how YOU want it, worry about classing and maxing out for the class later". Drop the Boss in her and go to town! Besides ST2 has imports in it too right? Go beat up on some Porsches.

yep we could go wooopin ass. the bad part about the st2 is when it rains youre also against awd cars and alot of things get really unfair.

i think american iron made a huge mistake i have talked to many s197 guys and they are beond pissed about it and i know atleast 2 are going to st2.

steve, jeff, robin, and us are all talking about making the move. if any of you are on nasa forums its something to read up on. american iron was talking about how they are glad they had more racers and now they are pushing them away. i do like the american iron series just not the rules they add every year

I think were staying with american iron actually. Putting the boss in. We are ordering a new clutch for the boss motor and trying to decide on a new boss 302 transmission too.

By dropping the Boss motor in, that'd just bump you from AI to AIX, right?

I'd run with whichever is going to be the most fun. I mean, that's why you do this, right?

Well if we wanted to we could but we are going tune it by either restricting the airbox or tune it to where the throttlebody only open at a curtain angles depending on different rpms. Thats how we detune the 4.6 and still keep a decent tourque band.

The rehagen racing group in their boss motors run a stock boss airbox and they have a cradle with holes drilled in it under the airfilter. They put tape on the cradle according to how much horse power you want to run. It works awsome. With only half the airbox open one of theyre cars. Stock boss 302 at modular depot wasputtin down 405rwhp with it a quarter blocked.
We run for fun but a stock or even a roush yates boss 302r couldnt keep up with the aix 800 hp cars
