this reminds me of something kindof funny that happened yesterday. my squadron hosted a bicycle safety event on base in part of the base exchange parkin lot. i was sent out there to help clean up and pack up. there was a chp officer out there and at the end I asked if i could move the cones around and have myself a quick lil autocross run and the way the cop and the tech sergeant reacted was funny cuz they thought i was seriously askin to do that.

i would like to make a suggestion on a autocross safety event but i know i would be laughed at

Ive been autocrossing for over a year. I cant imagine a better way to spend a weekend.

Running a 99, convertable v-6 with GT wheels, front and rear bars, MM camber plates and Falken 615s all around. Just installed Ford racing c springs now its sufficiently low and tight.

Cant wait till next months autocross.

Steve

My first autocross...I went with a few guys I know...the first day was practice so one of the instructors ran with me and also drove my car...he def gave me some awesome pointers...my first run was like 90 secs or something like that...when I ran to tell my friends they were like oh well we ran 52! but they luv me anyway lol so after the instructor gave me some pointers I even beat his time in my car and def got in the 50's...the next day when they were doing the novice walk a couple of guys were talking about the girl that had improved her time by like almost a min and awesome it was...hehe it was me and they didnt even realize I was walking behind them! Anyway I walked away beating a 06 civic si in first place and the guy was pissed!

There were 1438, 1592, 1608, 1756 (called the 1800), and the 2000 cc twin cam engined 124s. The coupe was replaced by the 131 (later became the Brava) in 1975, so technically, the 1756 and the 2000 were never available in the 124 coupe, only the Spider. The engine of choice for me was the 1608 and since your weight was determined on which engine you selected to run, the car was the quickest with a 1608. The rules allowed you to back date any of the motors for racing. The 69 Sport Coupe never came with anything but the 1438. I loved these little cars and I owned probaly 8 to 10 of them thru the years. I continued running these cars in B Sedan for years. Everyone was running the tried & true Datsun 510s, so I was quite different in an unproven racing vehicle here in the states.
