General rule of thumb is to put the widest tire you can fit on your stock rim.

I've heard really good things about the Falken Azensis for grip. If you don't have the budget for an autocross specific set of rims/tires, the Kumho ECTSAs work well as an all-purpose tire.

Grassroots Motorsports is a really good place for that question

I don't actually. I would like to some time, but I want to get a fair amount of suspension mods before I go (stock...), and with twins on the way in a few months, it kinda put a hold on the modding for now. Where in CO are you? Do you autocross at all where you are at?

Pretty much a full steeda suspension, upper & lower control arms, sway bars, springs, c/c plates, strut bar, subframes, shocks. But I started autocrossing with stock suspension.

Right on, that's how I'm gonna be for a while. How'd your car do on stock suspension?

Have you installed the Steeda X2 or the FRPP lower balljoints?
Isn't it at Steamboat that the National Championships for Solo II are held? Or maybe use to be?

Dont worry bout what mods you have just go and have fun. Mustangs arent autocross cars and youll never be the faster. The evos and stis runnin racing slicks will always be at the top, 4wd ftw on a tight autocross track. Its still a ton of fun though!

What!?!

AWD fails on a tight track. You can't get the damn things to turn, especially if you're running slicks.

On a more open track, absolutely.

Tight tracks are ruled by small/light 2wd cars, be they CRXs or Miatas, Minis or Soltices.

I've run a 92 corrado and and 94 beamer in tracks up here in WA on BF Goodrich G-force KDW2's (As they considered on tirerack.com due to their second gen tread design) and the things gave me some damn good grip. Also heard good things about the Eagle F1 GS-D3's but they were being run on a 350 and I didn't drive it so I don't know.

But KDW2s are nice IMO. Not terribly cheap though. =X
