Took the Cobra out to my first autocross in a while. Even on bone-stock suspension I was the fastest Mustang out there (not saying much, considering there were only 3 of us, and one was a rented sixxer), and still 3 seconds down on the 2 4th-gen Camaros out there. All sorts of cool cars and good people, even the requisite rich-guy-with-the-super-fast-car-he-can't-drive-for-st in the form of a cam'd C6 Z06 with race rubber that was also only ~3 seconds faster than me.

All in all, I think I did pretty well; not only is my suspension stock, but I was on old-ass Kumho all-seasons, which certainly didn't help any.

Highlight of the day for me was starting to understeer horribly coming into a decreasing radius corner (I had cooked both my front tires pretty hard that run), realizing that I could either kill about 5 cones, or just light up the rear end and powerslide my way around the corner.... you can guess which one I chose

Makes me REALLY want to get either a torque-arm or 5-link rear and the Agent 47 SLA suspension!

That guy in the Z06 sounds like my boss i cant wait to get my s/c and beatin him.

lol, yeah, he even had DOT-approved might-as-well-be-slicks on it.

I think with good tires, subframe connectors, and a panhard I could've kept up with him.

Guess I better get the checkbook out!
