done some wiring today.

I bought a few switches from Autoloc, the billet ones. I wanted them for my door openers (shaved doors) and window up/down.

I got off my butt and devised me up relays for my windows up/down off of "two" single switches.

Some of you may say "SO WHAT'S SO TERRIFIC ABOUT THAT?"

Well if you really think about it, One switch can make it go up and another switch can make it go down right? Not actually!

You have to figure a way to be able to change the polarity on the "same wire" on the motor from positive to negative.. otherwise it'll just keep blowing fuses or the wiring. Now you have to get both wires to change from one to the other at opposite times but in conjunction with moving one switch and or the other .Got ya thinking now Huh?!

It can be done through the use of "two" relays. I didn't look on the web to see if someone had already done this and to be able to find a schematic to just hook the wires up and go,, Nope I take the hard way and figure everything out just so I can understand and repair it if needed in the future.. I won't tell you just how long it took but it took a while.. You know the old trial and error approach..

I hate but yet enjoy wiring. It's extremely tedious and time consuming, but yet I get a great feeling of pride knowing there is truly only a handfull of enthusiast that know or are willing to take the time to figure things out. Today I was in the calm attitude of being able to willingly take and enjoy the time to "GET R DONE"...

Here's my bench with my wiring goodies.

Here's the billet switch lit up.

And here's the relay I wired up today.. I need to make one more for the other window. this is two relays taped together

Hi Kris,

This is Ron, (Bagged70C-10) from the Chevy boards.

I have the 16 MM switches, are they available? And I was actually typing about the Dual relay I made up. But very glad to hear you have the harness for the new switches. that will make any project with the billet switches so much easier.....

nice, I also enjoy wiring up things. if you ever need help with any electrical things like how to wire up relays, used diodes and resistors, or anything just let me know and ill be glad to help you out. Just look under my username MECP master certified as well. Your work looks good. Only thing that I would recommend is the open female spade connectors that you have to tape them up when done, if you didnt already, so to make sure they dont short anything out if they happen to come in contact with any metal.
