floor jacks


I'm gonna lower my car and i know that my jack is not going to make it to any of the spots under my car. lol I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of a very low profile long floor jack thats not going to break the bank.

So I gotta make some of them things and drive the car up on it then jack it up? easy enough!

those really are the best way, there is a walkthrough to doing it on that site too. i've been wanting to make some myself but just have been too busy to do it.

Tmac, my car is low and all i do is put a two 2x4 in front of both front tires and drive up on them and it gives me plent of room to get a few small pumps off and then you can get more once the car gets higher.

If you plan on doing a lot of work on your car, thus the jack question, I would spring for the good low profile jack like an Omega.

2x4's will work for all but the lowest cars.

The issue with the wooden ramps pictures is they are crazy heavy.

i'll look at the omega's. but i think that 2x4's will do. I could make a set that looks like your driving onto a lift. then jack one end up at a time so the jack will fit on both ends. Or maybe i'll just get a kustom lift installed in the garage ya know nothin too special

I have a low pro quick 3 pump race jack that absolutely useless with my car. it gets under the car just fine, but to get to a decent jack point, the jack goes under to far to be able to pump it. if someone wanted to put the steeda jack pads on there car that go over the pinch weld by the rocker panel they would probably work but a low profile jack doesnt work for me.

The jacking rails i put on my car are great for this issue.

had one of those, and it blew out the seals after lifting a 2003 mustang gt vert... ugh. loved that jack too...

i got a craftsman 3 ton jack on craigslist for 40 bucks and it works just fine
