1996 mustang gt- speedometer, odometer dont wrk

i gt a 1996 mustang gt 5speed with 4.11 gears
i went to install a new speed sensor and the one i bought from autozone wasnt the same size as the one in the trans.
I gt the numbers off the card and when i looked it up it showed up as a t-45(idk what the difference is)
but the cable was unplugged and i plugged it up and my speedometer ran to 180 and i racked up 30 miles in 10 min
how can i get the speedometer and odometer to wrk?
