I'm confused.

When I check my OBD2 code reader guide it says that code p1443 is the "Evaporative Emission Control System Control Valve" but my Chilton's manual says it's "Idle Air Control (IAC) valve speed fault" suggesting that the IAC may need replacement.

What the experience out there? Which is right? It appears the IAC is certainly easier to get to & may be cheaper but is that really the problem?

I do see some stumble & hesitation in the vehicle & I'm thinking that may be the cause as I don't see any other codes although it does show a pending code that I can's seem to get.
