Anyone Good With Brakes?

Hey guys I need some help asap if you could...

Problem: Brakes gone bad.
Solution: Change them. lol.

New Problem: Rear brake caliper will not depress enough to fit over the new brake pads, rotor.
Solution: This is where you come in....

I've got that nifty little caliper depress tool, and it did depress somewhat, however not enough for me to be able to slide it over the two brake pads. I am stumped, at this point, any help = appreciated, thanks.

(if you're a picture kind of person, they are readily available upon request)

Screw a fancy brake compressor. Put the brake pad over the piston (how it's supposed to sit in there) and push with your hands. Unless you're 20 lbs and have 0 muscle mass, you should be able to press them in.

Well that's gay of Ford. But I guess it would help with it not getting out of center and fucking up like one of mine did.

I second that.

Got the damn thing to turn all the way down, not a prob. NEW PROBLEM: Next problem I face is one of the two pistons (top-most, on the caliper mounting bracket) is frozen. I can't get it to bust free. Looks as though there was no grease applied to it on a previous install. Pissin me off Tried a c-clamp, numerous wrenches (**see below for side story) amongst other methods; gonna call it a night as far as car work goes... sun goes down, nightlife begins, lol.

HMUSN - yeah I always drink a little H2O with my alcohol, nothing like passing out ... FTL definitely. But thanks for the well-wished advice, always welcome here

**Oh and a sidenote - I did manage to smack myself just below the eye socket with a adjustable wrench, a big one at that. Got a nice lazeration and a good bit of blood and one hell of a bruise/bump. So I'll look nice n beat up for my Gr. Grandparents' funeral tomorrow morning.

If the caliper is frozen your best bet is going to be just buying a new one and replacing it. Bleeding the brakes is easy as pie.

It's not the caliper that's the prob anymore.... I just needed a little of Popeye's spinach to turn the caliper piston further and further down.

However, the two pistons that are supposed to be lubed up and able to slide to allow the caliper its movement (the two that run through the caliper mounting bracket), well, one of them won't budge - there was no grease on it, as far as I can tell, and as such the heat from the brakes probably ruined that particular piston.

I've got a new one coming from Ford here today, hopefully the car'll be driveable here soon! (of course I still need to do the front brakes, lol)
