Looking to get into some closed track racing for my stang, it's in the garage for the winter due to some presents that santa is gonna bring in. Where can i get information about getting into that style of racing? i googled stuff for a while but couldn't find anything solid.

What do you mean by "closed track"? Is that like dirt track or road course or...?

closed track as in a paved one, not autox with cones, but a real circuit track.

Okay.

If you're looking into wheel-to-wheel, the first thing you'll need to get is your competition license. You can get this either through SCCA or NASA. I'd suggest getting the SCCA license, as NASA will honor it, too, but SCCA does not honor NASA licenses.

Generally to do that, you will need to start by doing HPDEs (track days). These usually cost around $250, and you'll have an instructor.

Looks like you've got not much for tracks in Idaho. Your closest will be Miller Motorsports Park in Utah, Oregon Raceway Park in OR, or Spokane Raceway Park in Washington.

You can find more info on any of those here: Main Page - Trackpedia

Hope that helps!

No prob

If you need some motivation, check out youtube videos of American Iron or AIX - those are the NASA races for pony cars.

I'd also check out Griggs Racing, Agent 47, and Maximum Motorsports for your suspension needs, if any.
