I can't say I love the C.O.T. either but I hope in times to come we will see the end of the restrictor plate. With all of the safety implications Nascar has spent millions on over the past 5 years, you would think they'd allow the cars to experience their full potential.
I studied aerodynamics in college and personally love how one car affects another on a long-oval course. It's understandable, however, to see where people are coming from when they complain that you must draft in order to pass; that there is a diminishing occurance of driver-skill involved with driving a stock car. I don't know where I stand on that front, all I can say is that I'd love to take one of those cars on a 0-200mph pass a few times.

[quote="FaStStAnG5-0"]actually you really can't get pissed at toyota being in the racing, toyotas are not really made all in japan anymore, they employ thousands of hardworking blue collar americans here on our own soil. the cars that are being esentially built outside of the US are the american cars.. we have plants in canada & mexico, it's been being outsourced for a long time...
Ford's are made in mexico, except a few (mustangs are ) Chevy is made by the Canadians, and ricers are being made here. Space in Japan is sold by the inch, enough room to build a rice boiler there costs a fortune if they build them here they can keep them affordable, strange world is it not?

kinda random, but the only thing stock about the stock cars is the 5 lug pattern.

I'm not a NASCAR fan. I'll just say that up front. I do however watch the occasional race and actually enjoy the road courses much more than I do the oval tracks. With that said, I'm not flaming on anyone.
Thinking realistically, I just don't see how having an "import" company in the sport has taken anything away from it at all. NASCAR started with a bunch of bootleggin' country boys finding out who's whip was the fastest. THOSE DAYS ARE GONE. Even your NASCAR without Toyota would be a far stretch from its roots. Racing is about competition. It shouldn't matter what make/model/country the car comes from, so if you're a real racing fan then get over it and watch them race.

Daytona 500 is nearing once again and while it looks like Ford might dominate this one, watch out for Toyota this year. I bet their 2nd year will bring more top 10's and possibly a few victories as well.
That said, I've always been a supporter of my Washingtonians - Greg Biffle (Ford!!!), Kenny Schrader, and of course, Kasey Kahne. Huge Bobby Labonte fan as well, and Jamie McMurray (Ford!!).
