what would go into the process of setting up a stang for nascar?

...and was just trying to visualize an s197 among the rest of the typical nascar bunch. it's ford's sports platform, so obviously there'd be way less modding than the taurus, etc...

so, unless, you know the specifics of nascar modifying, i guess this isnt really asking the specifics. what would YOU do to modify a (your) stang for nascar?

These rumors have been floating for years. However taking a "stock" car and making it a stockcar racing platform is not practical. They hand build every piece of those cars to maximize potential.

I would love to see the Mustang enter Nascar, however I am enjoying watching Toyota kick the crap out of everyone this season. No, I am not a toyota fan I am just sick of the Hendricks (balls to butt, gordon/johnson) media hype.

Oh, and for the record. I'll bet Hendricks racing wishes they had Busch back now. Dale Jr. just drives around looking lost out there, maybe he is worried gordon or johnson is going to reinact a prison rape scene on him.... lol

Didnt read the article is that talking about cup or grand national series? there is a lot of different raceing under nascar. Ill assume it is.
A mustang is considered to be a sports car and could not be used in nascar. by the rules. thats why one never has been run. Now with new COT they are all the same exact body anyway. not that their was any part of a factory fusion on a stock car anyway.

oh i see they are talking about allowing those sports coupes in the grand national series thats a step below the cup cars. Cool, chevy balking at raceing the camara....lol no kidding.

I thought the hoods had to interchange? (seriously).

Though I guess that would've been tossed out with window with the whole CotF.

I guess I'd pay more attention to Nascar if ANY of the technology had any chance of trickling down to real cars. But it doesn't. I mean, restrictor plates? Why not just make them all run normal pump gas to slow 'em down? And not good premim, I'm talking cheap-ass Arco 87 octane pisswater gas.
