CHEAP Suspension for my '71 Mach 1
Hello everyone;
I am looking around for a FULL set of frount and rear suspension for my very neglected project a 1971 Mach1 I am trying to do the suspension on a very tight budget (around $1,000) and I still have alot of other work to do to it to get it back on the road before I move back to California in April. This was my moms car and she passed away from breast cancer 5 years ago today. so this car means alot to me, she was the second owner of the car and was married to the first owner .....so I have known this car my whole life (all 26 years of it) I was looking at the Grab-A-Track supper starter kit. it dosent seem too bad to me, I mean it dose come with a lifetime warranty. but I was told my a Mustang shope here in Missouri that Moog was pretty good ( but its PRICY) and also Global West. I just need to get the car running and driving, im affraid if i dont take the car with me I'll just end up looseing it in storage like i did my '68 coupe when I move out here to MO. Any help or advice would be great. or if anyone knows a place that MIGHT give me a discount on parts???? I wanted to make this Mach1 a breast cancer awareness car, you know Race for the cure and dedicate it in the memory of my mom, she was only 2 weeks from her 56th birthday when she passed. Here are a fue pics of the Mach.... ~April~ ![]() ![]() When she was New.....wasent she pretty!!!

Great Looking Car.
I would go with your local shop. Moog is very good the other stuff your talking about is just upgraded stock stuff " Global west, Grabatrac" If you just go with good stock replacement it will last you 50k miles. Just keep in mind your budget and do go over your head. be nice if you could do it yourself. it is all pretty easy. Here is one we are just finishing ![]() Here is a link on how you can restore your car. |
