Cool

17x8 wheels

So you guys already know that i'm know to the classic mustang. and that i have 1966 coupe I6. what i want to do is put some 17x8 deep dish bullitt wheels cuz i think that i looks sick. I also know that is very possible to do it cuz i've seen 1966 V8's with 20" rims. I'm gonna do 5 lug disk conversion on front and back. My question is what else do i need to buy to get those rims to fit. On the pictures you will find the look that i'm going for. But i couldnt find the exact rims that i want. I want the bullitt stile rims in chrome with 1.5inch lip. I know that you guys are the best and know exactly the parts that i need to buy, so please share that info with me

These are my next set to be put on. 17x9 in the rear and 17x8 in the front. $116ea for 17x9s and $114ea for 17x8s.

17x8 Rear / 17x7 Front
4.75 Rear / 4.00 front
265 40 17 Rear / 225 40 17 Front
Bridgestone
4 Leaf Standard Eye
Stock
None
Stock
SSBC
Stock Drum
Rear
3/8 spacers on the rear with longer lugs
86

From this chart i think that this is the setup that i'm going with. BTW i have to ask. My rear end is sitting much lower than my front end. What is the cause for that? are my leafs shot or maybe the shocks on the rear are shot. BTW i have new springs up front. Any ideas

The wheels that i want are 18x9 and by this chart there is no way i can fit those wheels in with tires. i know that on those wheels i can fit 265 in the back and up front maybe i can go as low as 235. This is the only wheel that i want to put because its sick

Those look great...

You need to look at the back spacing for those wheels.

What I used is ,

17X7 with 4.5" back spacing Front 17X9 with a 5" back spacing Rear

225/45/17 front with 1" lowered springs
255/45/17 Rear with mid eye 4 leaf spings

With this set up it just works

Mine was like that until I did the shelby drop and put the 16s on. My rear shocks are shot though. Also depends on what kind of coils they put up front. It takes time for them to wear some and lower.

I'm number 69 on the dodgestang chart. 17x8 front and back and 245/40-17 all around. A 265 wide tire might stick out in the back. Your front end being higher than the rear might just be the new front coils and the light I6. Also, if the coil isn't seated properly at the top of the shock tower it can cause a raising affect.
Shocks don't affect ride height, the leaf springs and coils will do that.

Nice rims you got there. How much did you bought it? If you don't mind. And oh, what lowering spring/ coil over did you use?

I think it was $900 for the wheels, 600 for the tires. I cut the front coils and built the rear leaf set, no lowering springs, no coil overs.
