Shifter help

Just the other day I put my 70 into a nice buddies $100 garage he showed me his new drag car. It had one of these B an M shifters that hook up to a auto trans and make it so all 3 gears are controled by the shifter. The question is one of these practical in a daily street driver and will it increase any preformance?

Just go to auto zone and get the shifter improvement kit from B&M it is about 45 bucks. If your going to do a lot of manual shifting though I would go ahead and just get one of B&M's console shifters they come with everything you need for about $250.

I have a B&M shifter on an automatic for my 70 mustang. I have the option of downshifting into 2nd or 1st gear, but mainly I use the automatic Drive setting. The shift kit's provide real nice "pops" in between gears and even chirps the tires during high rev shifts. It down shifts fast as well. They're a good alternative to a manual. I recommend a basic automatic kit for around 100 bucks.

Does this new shifter kit take away much from the stock looking interior is there one that looks better than the other I am willing to spend a lil more to make things look and work nice.
