Removing Old A/C

Since I have bought my 70 three years ago I have had the factory A/C in it is not hooked up and needs to be hooked up correctly to work. Is it worth keeping under the hood? Or is it better to just remove it box it up and throw it in the corner. Would removing it help preformace at all or would it hurt the value of my car.?...

Any thoughts................

I yanked mine out but only b/c it didnt fit. Depending on how much you need to fix (condensor, evaporator, compressor) and how much your willing to spend is all up to you. Your performance will be slightly increased anywhere from 5-8 hp, depending on the compressor size. Your value will be compromised slightly but realistically most people throw in a reproduction a/c anyways seeing as it cost more to salvage the original.

I think it will because you are removing drag from the engine, in that it doesn't have to strain as hard to turn that compressor which god only knows how well it turns anymore. Plus like stated earlier you'll be freeing up a couple ponies too. i ripped mine out a couple engines ago so, yeah. just my to cents.
