You could just get a 351W.

347 kits are fairly cheep.

A kit with a cast crank and rods will hold more hp than your existing block, so dont waste your money on a forged assembly.

Ive seen them for as low as $850.

FYI--To make a 347:

3.40" stroke
4.030" bore
5.40" rod

Go to your local bookstore or library and ask for a book called "How to Build Big-Inch Ford Small Blocks" by George Reid

If you do a 347 there will be nothing original left about that engine, and it will no longer be a 302 so it won't match what the car calls for.

you don't need to bore the cylinders .030" over unless the walls require resurfacing. even then you should tell your local machine shop to only go .020" over which gives you an adittional refinishing compared to the .030, as you should never take the 302 walls beyond 4.060.

If you go out to 4.060 your moter will run hotter. My 289 is .030 over.

I am not saying that you will have problems, but you are more likely too. If I had a block that need to be bore 60 over, I would do it in a heart beat.
On some chevy 283s, you could bore then .120 over and put in a stock 327 pistion in. I think they were called a 301.
