hood pins


does anyone know of a place that makes a good set of hood pins for a 68?

I never had hood pins, but I think just any old hood pins would work. Why do want hood pins? When I was about 16 I wanted them because they looked cool.

thats basicly it im 17 and i think they look cool. most of the ones ive seen say there only for the 67 gt350 but i guess thed fit a 68 coupe

Thats funny that you want them for the same reason I did. In hind sight, I am glad I did not get them. If you do get some, get the very best you can and hope they don't start to rust up on you and look like crap.

If you look around summit you should be able to find some stainless ones.
As for my car, I had to get them.... I'm scared I'm going to loose my hood.

I seen some guys that had them because there hood latch was not working right.

Some guys here had their hood open on them when thay was driving down the road. not a good thing.

If you plan on racing your car pin er down. We have a Steeda hood on our 92,and the latch popped a couple times on the highway.Pinning it will make it safer if you take it to the track.

Anyone install one of these or know someplace online that has installation instructions with pictures? Just bought a Ford Racing latch and pin kit and need some help with the install.... thanks!

Buy a set of reproductions of the originals from NPD national parts depot I personally like the twist ones but get whatever you want they got bought the pin and the twist types

Hey, I was thinking of doing the same thing; but for safety reasons. Can you fasten the hood pins inside the hood so they can't be seen from the outside?

you can get locking hood pins. I have seen them on a couple of imports running around.

hood pins


i have no latch and no hindges like i said.reason is there is no motor cover law in virginia and most the time i dont have a hood on the car.good old VA.

Really??? Wow. With all the gay laws that VA has, I would have never guessed that. So with no hinges, don't you worry about the hood flipping forward when you hit the brakes hard?
