Only pic i have of the car mid way through being primed. All of the body work is done now, and the parts of the car that had rust have been patched up. Soon enough the car will be done with paint and i'll throw some pics up! Once the paints done, i'm putting the front discs i purchased on.

its been a while since i've been here guys. Here are some updated pics but the friend who's been helping us with the body work has been taking much longer then expected. Entire car has been repainted, including the door jambs, engine bay, etc.

I'll try and get some more pics up tonight.
Main question i came here to ask was about my transmission. I currently have a 3 speed C-4 that i feel isn't gonna do the job. Being 17 years old, i have some time on my hands to devote to rebuilding a transmission. I'm definately looking to veer away from automatic, but what would you guys suggest i do?

Thanks in advance!

thats how i was figuring i'd go about it, with a t5 conversion. As the thread says, im still fairly new to cars but im getting there. I figure a hands on project like this is the best way to gain some more knowledge. What kind of car could i pull a t-5 from do you think, or is it worth it to get a refurb'd one around, and how would i go about installing a clutch pedal setup?

Thanks
-Mark

Wow. Looks fantastic!

There are a million resources on the web for new old parts and various performance upgrades. Google will be your friend.

If I were you I would focus on handling and stopping first. I know you want more power, but it is more fun (and safer) to get the running gear ready for the extra power first.

If you want modern steering check out Flaming River.

Year One is probably going to bve a good source for OEM or reproduction parts, especially trim pieces and the like.

Heidts is a great source for front and rear suspension upgrades.

Good luck and be careful

i've already upgraded to front disc brakes. I plan to do any necessary steering and suspension upgrades as i see fit once i get the car back from paint. I've been doing some research on t5 tranny's, and it appears i want one out of a fox body, from around 87-93. How tough is the swap on one, and how would i go about drilling for the clutch pedal. Can anyone whos done this before chime in.

Thanks
-Mark

You will need a manual bellhousing, z-bar, clutch rod, clutch kit, flywheel, crossmember, adapter plate, your driveshaft should be fine since it is for a C4 and the T5 uses that yoke.

Don't know of anything else I am missing.

Or you could get a late model 302 bellhousing, hydraulic clutch conversion or cable clutch, flywheel, crossmember, and clutch setup. I'm not sure if you still need the z-bar for this setup, but I do know you won't need the adapter plate for it.
