[fct/frm]

Ok last night i start up my new motor only to realize that the voltmeter is only reading 12volts. I have followed the wiring diagrams as completely as possible and all the parts are new. So i must have made an oops somewhere and i have a small idea where. In the wiring diagram the black voltage regulator wire and the GND wire of the alternator splice before going to ground, why is this and isnt a ground a ground(i did want to save some weight and wire so they have separate grounds)? Well so far as i know all the rest of the wires are correct, the white voltage regulator wire goes to STA at alt., the green reg. wire to run, the yellow reg. wire to solenoid and the BAT alt. wire to solenoid as well. I dont have the ammeter wired because i dont have one, but did put a voltmeter in instead, assuming the alt. does make 14volts. Any help explaining the whys, hows and what-nots would be great and much appreciated.

The quik way to test it is the add power to the field post "orange" on the alt.
It is the post beside the battary post.
That will let you know if your alt is good
