Shock towers, sub-frame in rear and front. Rost/rot around around rear window and front windshield, quarter windows. Basic old school car. They all have rust/rot problems if they were driven around any.

Are those year mustangs worth a lot of money once they are restored?

69 and 70's are fairly popular cars. Lots of folks seem to want them.

before you look at the car look at the guy. make sure all his stories match said car. read what his body language tells you. if he is lying about anything i wouldnt touch it. my friend bought a car, 70 somethin nova, had a 350 dirt track motor. after he bought it it turned out to be a 305 that didnt even have oil in it. he blew the motor tryin to drive it home. guy wouldnt take it back. take a mechanic with you, thats a good bet

Check for rust around the tail lights as well.

i'm surprised some of you have never seen a rust free mustang. we have 10 mustangs in the household and all of them except 1 are 100% rust free, and it only has minor surface rust. even the two '64 1/2's, '65, and '67 fastback are perfect

even if it's repairable, pointing out problems with the car is a good standing point when negotiating prices

Mine was rust free, but I live in Oklahoma, and it's humid, and at some point it WILL develope rust. This spring, there were a few days it was so humid my shop floor looked like you ran the water hose on it, and the inside of my stang had moisture on everything.
