Leaky Transmission Oil Pan

I've been fighting with a leak in my transmission oil pan for the past several months. I pulled the pan off (manual transmission on 67, 200ci) a few months back and every time I put it back on it leaked around the gasket. I put on the paper gaskets, cork gaskets, rubber gaskets, and even used RTV (high temp gasket version) and it still leaked. I thought perhaps the reason the RTV didn't work was because either there was some transmission fluid on the case which kept it from getting a good seal, or because the metal was too smooth to allow it to get a good grip (which doesn't explain why it sealed everywhere else except in the one spot it leaked). I thought of scouring the case with sand paper, but I also thought that would be a bad idea. Any thoughts on what to do?

No, this is on the bottom of the transmission, on an automatic.

if you have been through all that it could be coming from somewhere else.put some dye in it and clean it good.then run it and you can see where it is coming from.could bee coming from the lines or the dipstick seal or shift shaft lever.

Hmm, I'll check have to look into this this weekend. I pulled the pan off again (and intend on sealing it w/RTV again, just to make sure I get the best seal) and will have to let it cure before adding more tanny fluid.

Apparently all I had to do to fix the problem was post online. I took the pan off, cleaned it up, put a ton of RTV on both the pan and the case and bolted it down. I put fluid in last night (only 1-2 quarts, which is what I had in it the last time it leaked (not currently driving it)) and it had not leaked as of this morning. We'll see how it goes...
