What engines ccan a standard C4 handle without major modification?


because i want to put in a 302 engine block and am worried that i will break my tranny. so does anyone know? (its my first real engine swap, I'm replacing the straight 6 my 67 currently has for something with a little more oomph)

I know the foxes had a c4 behind the 302. And pulled fine.

thanx you woulndt happen to know if this 302 5.0L/302 - 340 HP GT-40 ALUMINUM HEAD FORD RACING PERFORMANCE CRATE ENGINE ASSEMBLY MISCFORD would fit in the standard bay for the 67 without issues would you?

It is a 302, should have no problem.

A 67 engine bay was designed to hold up to a 429 (not that changing spark plugs will be easy with an engine that big, but it will "fit")...A 302 should have not problem fitting.

a c4 will hold up fine. but if you plan to shift it yourself you might want to get a full manual valve body, tci makes some good ones case you need ideas.

302's were standard an pretty much all 302's so yes. It's will handle it just fine unless you plan on making some massive #'s

thanks guys now i just have to save for one or find a cheap one. do you guys know if you can rip a 302 from a newer model mustang (say 80's and later) and still have it work or am i just being stupid. (I already know i probly am i don't really know a whole lot about car mechanics i just enjoy drving them).
