1970 Convertible Restore Questions
Hey All,
I'm on the verge of buying a 1970 Mustang convertible to restore. The body work is 90% done, I'm just trying to figure out what I'm getting myself into as far as the rest of the work. The car has an original inline 6 but I want to swap that out and put one of the new Boss 302 crate engines in it. The intent is to turn this into a Boss clone. First off, is this possible? And then, what will be needed to accomplish this? A new T5/T6 transmission? What about the rear-end? Do I need to rebuild that to accomodate the increase in power? Any additional support brackets or anything else to make this happen? |

Just take it one step at a time. Boss Clone easy just buy the stripe and hood set up and a Trunk Lid.
The motor dosnt have enough power to break a good T-5 the is not need to go to TKO tremmc. A Good 302 that you are looking at only puts out up to 400 hp. Suspention, Does it it have 4 or 5 lug wheels. is 4 Lug you will need to repalce it all. |
