so iv been workin frantically tryin to get my car ready for mustang week. this is a dumb question i know, but im learning.
the engine is a 1989 351 windsor with a 2 barrel carb. iv heard its called the venturi carb? i dunno. but the cars turns over fine, idles great. but the engine stalls or even backfires if i rev really hard, and under acceleration.
is this a carb adjustment issue? if so how do you properly adjust a carb. if not, then what is the issue and how do i fix it?

It could be a fuel flow problem, Line crimped,filter or sending unit pick up

so without even really lookin i figured id drive it to autozone and get a filter, since its cheap and all. it broke down. right in front of a packed putt putt course. it was great. lots of pointing and laughing. 20 cars drove by. not one person offered help.
anyways, all i had was sandpaper. so i used that for added grip and unscrewed the fuel filter. it took me 5 minutes to knock all the crud out of it. it ran so much better. thanks mustangone

Anytime, You might go ahead and plan on changing out the fuel tank and sending unit.

It is cheap and easy to do. Alot safer and will not have keep replacing fuel filters.
