289/351 ???
Hay guys,
I am at a point where I can rebuild my 289 block if its not to badly damaged. Or put in a 351. I have been told in the past by locals around here that a 351 will fit. But I am skeptical. I don't want to get the cart before the horse sort to speak. Will a 351w fit in a 67'? Or am I opening a whole new can of worms? Other option is to bore out my 289. But its already .30 over. Any thoughts on going even further? Or is that really going to shorten the lifespan of the block and cause reliability issues?

With a 1967 , the 351 will fit fine. I would stay away from anything over 30 over. They are hard to keep cool.
Here is my 351 stroked to a 427 in a 1968

I would love to go with the 351. But am not to familiar with its stroker and boreing options? Here I go getting the cart before the horse again. but I'm sure I can find a block for cheap and then save the 289 for one of my other projects. (like my 87' zuk sammy, 2.8 v6 bow tie in it now. but maybe blue oval V8 when the 6 goes to the big junk yard in the sky) but that's for another time, and different forums. Right now I need to pick your brains on the 351 please.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I checked it out and it looks wicked. I have already committed to a 351 block now. I used to have a 68' Buick skylark that we put a 455 stage 2 in out of a 72 lark, so I know what you are talking about when you say 600+ lbs for a big block. I'm building this stang for mostly dragging. But it is my first Ford build. And my first purpose built car. I know I'm going to go forged on almost everything. Eventually running a bottle kit. Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it.
