removing the steering box
Hi All,
I need to get the steering box out of my 65 coupe, 289, power steering. I hope all I have to pull is the exaust manifold, and leave the motor in the car. Any body have experience with this? Thanks, Allen |

Remove only what's physically in the way. I'm sure you don't have to pull the motor, and you may be able to leave the exhaust on. See if you can either drop the steering box under the car (unlikely w/ power steering stuff in the way) or pull it up past the exhaust manifold.

Thanks for the replies.
On the 65 there is a 42"shaft, to the steering wheel, that can't be removed. Therefore there is only so much wiggle room. The exaust will have to come off - at least. It needs to slide out tward the front, can't drop down because of the steering colum, already tried. Aarrggghhh! |
