Wheel and tire help on my 65!!!
What’s up guys, Iv been driving my mustang around for about a month now after getting it back on the road, I’m really tired of looking at the old 14" hub caps haha.. I really want some new wheels but i have no idea what will fit. I know on my 65 the recommended offset is supposed to be about 4.5, I want to do some 17's. But i did the ford explorer 8.8 swap on the rear and its probably about .5 inches wider in the rear now.. I do not want them to stick out of the fender well at all. Does this mean I will only be able to do a 17x7?

You can fit a rim with 6" backspacing on the rear. Anything more than 4.5 requires a spacer on the front.

but if you find the perfect wheels and need. spacers are not that expensive. FR500's and 04 cobra 10th anniversary wheels look AMAZING on classics
