'10 best looking mustang since 69
Hey guys, I know this isn't a section for topics like this but I can't find a better one. So I've been gone for a while and now I've only got 6 months left in Japan, then I'm a civilian and get to see and drive my baby 67 fastback again. But on to this subject- the 2010 Mustang is lookin to be the slickest, classiest looking mustang since the 67/8/(69 just cause it looked so good). Which gives me a dilemma. Should I invest in a modern vehicle for the first time ever? No, I guess not. But if I fall into about $100,000 (with $25,000 of that to spare on a new Stang) in the next couple years I'd take this up in a heartbeat.
Looks like the 05-09 was a lot like the 65-66's (although lived for twice as long), unrefined, potential to look cool but something just seemed off. And this 2010 looks like 67's answer to the first-gen. Which is amazing. The fat, boring, almost generic kinda look of 05-9 was a lot like the plasticy, unproportioned 65-6's. And with the new hood, the new rear, the new tail of the 10 it seems like everything the 05-9's should have had modified have been. The front end is the sickest thing I've seen. It sits so low, any hood with scoops will make this '10 looks incredible. The rear quarters remind me of the new Challenger, with the sleek and skinny wells. And the taillights, I'm not sure how to take them but even they seem to have more detail put into them (like how the plastic squares went to 3 separated taillights from 66 to 67). This is just a quick opinion of what one diehard classic mustang guy thinks of the new car, but I get really tired of googling opinions on things like cars, and not one person ever hits the nail on the head. "2010 looks great", for unrelated reasons to anything other than the generic compliments is pretty annoying. I'm sure real fans have a much better, more detailed opinion than that.

Well now the part about the 05-09 stung a little, but I agree, the '10 is pretty sweet, but I cannot stand the rear end. I think those taillights are hididous. And the black plastic makes me think of an Avalanche pickup, or a Honda Element. The rest is great though.

wait till 2012 for a twin turbo 5.0 in the shelbys. id never get a first year for a new drive train due to may of the issues that come up with a new motor. let them get the kinks worked out for 2011 and get a 2012

i agree with v606er about the plastic. it makes it look terrible. all in all, i'm not a huge fan of the 2010 mustangs. i think the terminator was the best looking mustang since the '69

I have mixed feeling about the styling, but I still hold the opinion they are BADASSES! I will say though that I dislike the fact that the base models get sequential tail lights, as cool as they are and as much as I love them I think that they shouldn't be standard equipment on a base model six but maybe allowed as an option or standard equipment on a future Plus or Pony Package model for the sixers.
Oh and +1 on the wait for the 5.0 models. I just hope they will be as responsive to mods as the old 5.0's were and the industry can develop an aftermarket for them better than what they did for the modular engines.

My guess is that they'll respond about how the N/A Cobra motors do. Not a whole lot to be gained from bolt-ons, but put some boost to 'em and watch out!

Yeah... I know it... The days of swapping out factory engine components like heads and intakes are long gone, and it makes me want to cry a little on the inside. At least there are still old muscle/pony cars to play backyard mechanic with.

I hate stock 2010s because the plastic crap on the sides and rear are terrible, but Roush, the Saleen (not the SMS, thats crap too), and the Shelby give me cargasms. The Super snake is

the funny thing is all that plastic stuff on the sides and the rear happened way back when. My 70 mach 1 has both the plastic on the sides and on the rear and it looks awesome on there. And the 2010 i love, ecspecially the grabber blue, i think thats the name of that color.
