putting a 302 in 68 mustang

i have a 1968 mustang with a strait six and a automatic trany and i just enharited a 1988 302 out of my uncles old mustang what do i need to do to the flex plate in the trany and the bell housing?

Have to get a new bellhousing and probably flex plate too. I6 won't fit a V8.

i think i would put a good trans out of a v8 in it. c-4 should do.

your auto out of your 6 is a c4. You just need to get a bell housing for it, flex plate,spacer, torque converter, & starter.

The rear end you cant keep for a while till you can aford the 8" and its build.
