And what's the difference between thermal coating, and ceramic coating, because they sell both?
Ceramic coating is a high heat glazing like on your coffee cups. Very good stuff cost more.

The Thermal coating is the 1200 Paint over the aluminized pipe.

This is the link to the headers
Headman Elite Headers

Hedman Elite Hedders are made with ultra heavy 14 gauge aluminized tubing and utilize a bulletproof 3/8'' flange. A thermal coating is added to resist the intense heat and adverse elements common to engine compartments.

You SHOULD love him. My dad has a fit if I even look at the engine in my car for more than a minute, and worse if I think about working on it. And I've been rebuilding and working on engines on our farm since I was little.

Getting closer all the time. I've now purchased most everything I need, and have put the paint on hold due to buying about $5000 more "stuff" than I had intended. Just about ready to let him go, and then start putting it all together. I hope it will be a Mica Strata Blue Christmas.

Think I have decided on Foose Legend 17" X 8" Wheels. Not sure about the backspace even though I've read every word about it on this board. Thinking 5". What size tires would look best without having too low a profile. No racing for this car, but maybe some Showing Off! My wife and I do plan to make an extensive Route 66 trip one day.

Hey man....Long time, no see. I'm not too sure the 5" backspacing will work on an 8" wheel. It depends on what size tire you're using. I have a 4.5" backspacing on my 15X8s, with a 275/60/15 on my Magnum 500s, and 275/50/15s on my Prostars. The inside of the tire is pretty close to the leaf springs, and they just tuck under the fender. You are more than welcome to come take a look at it. It won't be out of the shop for 5-6 months until the new engine is together. You will probably be using a more narrow tire, so it may be fine. You can even take one of my Prostars and throw it on if you'd like to do some measuring with it.

I will probably take you up on the offer to slip on a Prostar to see how close it is to the leaf. Also, I don't want the tire hanging outside the fender.

I had the paint picked out before I bought the car. It's a Lexus blue, a little darker than your car, and also iridescent. I saw a 1940 Ford Hot Rod at a car show probably 10 years ago which had the sweatest dark blue I had ever seen. The owner told me is was an off the shelf paint.

I saw Ladd's car sitting outside Bruce Cowart's house last week, and thought Bruce had bought another Mustang. I talked with Bruce today, and he told me it was Ladd's

If you run something like a 245/40/17 it may work. I just went out and took a look at it. If it will clear the leaf, it will be even better, because it will give you more fender clearance.

Ladds car is pretty nice. I bet he payed a lot of money for it. Bruce has some cool stuff too.

Hopefully mine won't be blue for too much longer. I was actually going to paint it a real metallic silver, with the Mach 1 blackout treatment like it has now. That's my next project after I get the engine in. Hopefully I'll have that finished, and back on the road by January of February.

Just send me a PM if you want to use a wheel. I won't be using them for a while, and they're off the car. If you would rather use the Magnum 500 with a little taller tire, it's no problem to pull one off.
