68 Coupe 302 EFI swap

I am wanting to do a swap with a 93 302 Efi into a 68 Mustang Coupe. We are going to pick up the donor car this weekend. The fuel pump is bad on the donor car now. What electric fuel pump could I get that would work on the 93 to get it to run then use it for the swap on the 68???

Also, what else would we have to out source that can't be used from the donor?

I have a 68 with a 289 in it. I'm swapping the intake and EFI system from a 5.0 to it. Keeping the 289 lower end and heads

In the 68 if you want to keep your stock gas tank there are two things you need. First that fuel pump. Go to any auto parts store and get one for a 88 Ford F150 with the dual tanks. It's a factory external pump that cranks out about 90psi, and will cost you about 80 bux (if you find a better price more power to ya) It's a lot less than a performance aftermarket one and is more than enough for a stock to mild performance build.

Second thing you will need to do is run a return line back, 2 easy ways with out molesting your tank.

1. Put a tube on the sending unit for the return line and it will just pump the fuel right back up there. (I have hear of this being done and no issues, I'm going this route on mine.)

2. The more dangerous route... run the fuel line up threw the trunk and into the filler neck. Danger here because you are sending a fuel line into the car. I don't recommend this one but I have heard of people doing it as well.

I was cruse'n the forum and joined specifically to answer this question lol.
Good luck and have fun

Thanks for the info. Can i leave the old pump in the tank and put the inline pump in between the tank and engine. My question is, will it pull fuel through
the original pump that is bad inside the tank?

Dont use the tank from the 93. Add a return trough the sending unit of your gas tank in the 1968.

Also Remeber if your trying to start the 93 and the 93 was in a wreck. there is a fuel pump kill switch that has to be reset in the trunk.

I am just trying to get the 93 to run. It only has 10 psi at fuel rail. It will crank spraying gas in the engine with a squirt bottle. Whst I am asking is ih I put an inline pump between the old pump in the tank and the engine, will it pull the fuel through the bad pump?
Thanks

I would say no. You might want to ask in the 5.0 Mustangs Forum.

you can run the return to the filler line in the trunk.use a peice of 3/8 brake line and angle it through a drilled hole at a down angle.works good for me.make this a full steel line .

Thats the way I'm going with my fastback swap. I'm using the Aeromotive rails and braided lines. The mustangdepot.com and autoworksracing.com (autoworks international) sell special EFI tanks for classic stangs. Check them out.
