What 2 Do restore or modify to get top dollar?

the 66 fastback is originaly a I6 cylinder engine C4 automatic trans 4 lug tires.
Worth more completely restored or turned into a GT replica? V8 5lug full GT suspension.

The original color was Silver Blue I like it better than green. With white & blue Pony interior.

that depends solely on the market in your area. you will just have to go out and get a feel for your area.

Shelby clone if you are going to do anything to it.

So what your saying is if you plan to modify dont play around modify to the most desired replica?
And oyu know this will cost more as well as bring more.

But i have to say that is my dream car and then I wont want to sale, i see the logic in this hmmm now to find out how difficult this would be.
What is involved, what will it cost.

Considering I only have $300 in it now who cares what it costs.

alright you have just witnessed me convincing myself.

Not sure what it would cost, I have seen them sell for alot more then just a plain V8 Mustang.

Things you would need for starters
brakes
hood
grill
roll bar
paint

I would not try to make a stock Shelby. I would mod the moter out the way you want it and put in a T-5. Put some new style brakes on. The main thing is the body kit and the paint. The roll bar would be nice too.

Its not worth it to build the car for profit. You won't get your money out of it that way. Build the car to what you want it to be and enjoy it. Sure, a concourse complete resto will bring a lot of money. You would have to find the correct month/year engine, intake, carb. Everything has to be perfectly flawed as it came off the assembly line to get the resto-money. Overspray marks, chalk marks, thats what true resto people are looking for and they would be the limited few you would have for potential buyers. In general, a plain V8 car will cost more than a plain I6 car in the same condition.

One thing to realise is that the cars that bring the big bucks just do not get driven.
After they are restored they really look new, and they have to stay new to get the money.
I agree with the others, just make it like you want it. It is all about your fun and pride in your car. If it is about profit, you have a whole different attitude and not even drive the car when it is done.

Right now the "resto-mod" market is doing very well, one thing to keep in mind is uniqueness, people want something unique, but with that you have to be very careful. Its important to remember that what you like someone else may not. My best advise is do what it takes to make that car what you want, enjoy it, and sell it when you get bored with it. Thats pretty much a summary of my life.
