Rubber Under Coating
I just wanted to get some opinions on a good rubber under coating. My car is on a rotisserie and I just finished POR 15 the under body. Since I am building more of a daily driver and not a show car I would like to put a rubberized coat on next to diminish sound and protect the paint underneath the car and in the wheel wells. My compressor is broke (it was a POS anyways) which kind of throws out spraying so this rubber coat has to be brushed on. Any suggestions?

hey... i just finished undercoating my 67 mustang yesterday. I used a herculiner kit from advanced auto. It is a truck bed liner kit, but is also used for automotive undercoating. Only took about a day to complete and looks extremely good...
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() You can look around on the internet for the kit from advance auto or other stores... Here is the kit at Northern Tool Only around $90 plus, you need to buy more 2" brushes, some paint mixing sticks, and something to hold the herculiner in while applying.... hope this helps. I love my undercoating...

I only bought the gallon with the kit, and I had around 1/4 of the gal leftover. All you need is some more brushes, paint tray, and some Xylene to prep the metal with.

PREP WORK IS THE KEY!!! Without prepping it right, ALL of your time, and $$ will be wasted. That stuff needs great adhesion. Its nasty, dirty, time consuming work, but it has to be done. Looks like Hunter7158 did his right. Looks good man! Good luck, and please take this bit of advise.
I had mine sprayed with line-x, and even with all the prep work done by me, it still cost $250. The kits you can buy are a great cost alternative if on a budget.
