Rebuilding engine

Could some give me an estimate on how much it would be to have someone rebuild a 289ci engine from a 68. Im talking about all new parts and even getting it bored out.

It depends on what all would have to be done. If the engine isn't blown up, there would be no reason to replace everything, unless you're modding the hell out of it. Really all you should have to replace would be the pistons, rings, gaskets, and maybe get the heads rebuilt, or a valve job. The crank might be able to be turned, depending on how many times it's been done in the past. Your best bet would be to go to the local machine shop, and talk to them about it.

here is a rough idea. last i checked boring costed around 20 per cylinder. then depending on what you want with a rebuild kit around 700 for the most. then you have to think labor an all that fun stuff. so if you jus want it to stock i would say 1300 easy.
