Tach mount in 72 dash question
71-73 owners,
Any one have a good trick for mounting a aftermarket tach in the origional location, i found an autometer tach the is pretty close to factory looking. Anyway the tach is 4'' but the hole in the cluster is just a touch bigger than that. I need someway of having the ridge around the tach hold its self so that I can use the u bracket it came with it to hold it tight from the back. Any ideas will help! |

I wound up taking an AutoMeter tach apart and mounted the guts inside the stock gauge casing. Had to make a small bracket and cut a hole in the back of the casing. I also made a custom paper cover for the RPM markings because I had the idiot lights instead of a tach.
