Seat switch in a 1964.5

I currently have the original (and rare) front bench seat in my mustang. what does it take to switch to bucket seats? and what would you recommend? I've had trouble finding a new interior kit with the front bench style vinyl. Thanks

I'm going for custom, nothing crazy though. my income doesn't support that ;-)

It is very easy to switch to bucket seats.
The 4 holes for each side are already there for bucket seats.
You just need the bucket seats.

MustangOne, thanks, i was hoping it would be that easy. But should I make the switch?? This is a very rare option as far as I know, but I would rather be sitting in a bucket seat and I think that matters more to me. suggestions?

It is a very rare option becuase no one liked a bench seat in a sports car.

Just keep the seat safe and sell it with the car if you ever do.

haha, that is pretty much what i figured. but then again, i only have a 170 cid in this thing. anyway to spice it up a bit? I think I want to stick with the i6 but i'm not opposed to a switch at all. i just looked at your site also, pretty cool.

Classic Inlines can hook you up with some go parts I hear. They have a website of the same name too, classicinlines.com. I know they make/have parts for the 200cid, and (somebody step in here and correct me if I'm wrong) I think for the 170cid engine as well (after all they're the same engine, just that the 200 is slightly larger).

I know right, Futurama is just so damned funny.

Seriously though, my avatar is conservative compared to that of those who hang there head in other parts of this site (the clubhouse being the most drastic).

so anyone have suggestions on new bucket seats? Again, i am not looking for anything too fancy or for serious speed. just a good comfortable cruiser seat. i would go stock but I want headrests, and i've seen the upgrade kit price for stock headrests, wow

Those scats are the way to go if you ask me. Haven't gotten a chance to actualy drive in mine because my car is still a little way off from running but damn they are comfy when I was sitting still. Though me being fairly tall I have to recline the seat a bit to keep my head out of the headliner.
