diesel 1st gen

So, Ive got this idea... You know the kind. Theres a 72 Mustang in my garage. It needs a motor. Any geek off the street could drop in an engine that was designed for the car. I mean, good grief. How easy would that be? *Tim Taylor grunt* Too easy for me, thats how easy

Anyway, I would like to know your suggestions for a diesel engine for my mustang. The main reason Im looking at diesels in the first place is the spectacular fuel economy you can get relative to power. Its gonna be a daily driver, so Im shooting for all the horsepower I can get, while keeping the mpg at about 25+. Im leaning towards a 3.9L Cummins, which my research indicates will knock on the door of 6oo hp and still get the 25mpg, and easily at that. Anybody know the weight of the 3.9? Probably the wrong forum for that lol. I know its heavy, but maybe not TOO heavy? I also like the fact that parts for the 3.9 are so ridiculously easy to find, since its very interchangeable with the 5.9. Anyway, all comments welcome. Thanks guys.
